Initial conditions: beam in static (DC) mode at operating current

  1. ISAC:OPS

    1. Record beam spot at nominal current with 2A2M19

    2. Make e-Log entry for beam profile and 2A2M20Halo U,D,L,R signals on XTERM 2A2P page

    3. Phone CYC:OPS to request rotator mode

  1. CYC:OPS

    1. Reduce p+ to 10uA

    2. Change 2A2M20 Halo total threshold to 500

    3. Change 2AQ15/16 (2A TW30/31) to 220A/250A to get a smaller spot (~4mm FWHM) [the settings will vary somewhat depending on the tune; for one tune-up 200A/220A did the trick]

    4. Phone ISAC:OPS

  2. ISAC:OPS

    1. Record beam spot at nominal current with 2A2M19

    2. Make e-Log entry for beam profile and spot size

    3. Based on look-up table (Marik) decide on rotation amplitude and heater setting for p+ goal and beam spot size

    4. Set p+ limit; set heater

    5. Phone CYC:OPS to request new p+ limit and rotator on at desired amplitude

  3. CYC:OPS

    1. Turn on rotator at requested amplitude XT page 2AB

    2. Turn on position stability routine XT page 2AP

    3. If 2A2M20 Halo protect looks within operating limits set threshold to 300

      1. Otherwise increase rotation amplitude 0.5mm at a time until sufficient halo signal is reached

    4. Raise current to previous operating level when in DC mode and modify beam rotation amplitude (if changed)

    5. Phone ISAC:OPS

  4. ISAC:OPS

    1. Record 2A2M20Halo U,D,L,R signals, P+ current, rotation amplitude in the e-Log, Q15/16 setting (XT page 2AQ)

    2. Halo levels should look within the limits, balanced and similar in magnitude to DC mode values

    3. Phone CYC:OPS to request desired operating current

  5. CYC:OPS

    1. Raise current to requested level
