Initial conditions: beam in rotating (AC) mode at operating current

  1. ISAC:OPS makes request to CYC:OPS or CYC:OPS makes request to ISAC:OPS

  2. CYC:OPS

    1. Reduces P+ current to 10A

    2. Change 2A2M20 Halo total threshold to 500

    3. Invoke DC mode (XT page 2AB)

    4. Phone ISAC:OPS

  3. ISAC:OPS

    1. Record beam spot at 10A with 2A2M19 (small spot)

    2. Make e-Log entry for beam profile

    3. Phone CYC:OPS to request standard beam spot

  1. CYC:OPS

    1. Change 2AQ15/16 (2A TW30/31) to 0/0 to get a broader spot

    2. Phone ISAC:OPS

  2. ISAC:OPS

    1. Record beam spot at nominal current with 2A2M19

    2. Make e-Log entry for beam profile and spot size

    3. Based on look-up table (Marik) decide on p+ and heater setting for the particular beam spot size

    4. Set p+ limit; set heater

    5. Phone CYC:OPS to request new p+ limit

  3. CYC:OPS

    1. Change 2A2M20 Halo total threshold to nominal

    2. Raise current to requested level

  4. ISAC:OPS

    1. Check beam width at final operating current, record in e-log and make adjustments to heater of beam spot if required
