By Keiko Ezawa, ISAC Controls, Jan 30, 2009

Starting ISAC II CRYOGENICS ALH  in Main Control Room:

  1. Shutdown ISAC II Cryogenics in the ISAC Control Room. Do not shutdown other three alarm handler. The user at Main Control Room can only start Cryo Alarm Handler.
  2. On BL2AEPICS console in MCR (Main Control Room), connect to sunbeam as user "opsalh". This is to change the log file permission to enable Cyclotron Operator to write to it and kills running alh4 process.
    1. Place the mouse arrow over an empty desktop area
    2. Click "Right Button" on the mouse
    3. Select "Terminal"
    4. Inside the terminal, type: ssh opsalh@sunbeam
    5. It should ask for a password. Please enter the normal ISAC Console Log In password.
    6. It should automatically close the session on sunbeam. It only takes a second. Please do not worry that you did not see anything in the terminal.
  3. Start ISAC II Cryogenics ALH on BL2AEPICS console.
    1. Place the mouse arrow over an empty desktop area
    2. Click "Right Button" on the mouse
    3. Select "ISAC_Cryo_ALH".  You should see ALH window come up
    4. Make sure/check that the volume is turned up (not muted or too low)

You are done.

Switching CRYO ALH to run in ISAC Control Room:

    1. On one of ISAC Control Room Console, open a terminal window or xterm window. (xterm window can be opened by opening "right mouse button" menu.)
    2. Inside the terminal, type: ssh opsalh@sunbeam
    3. Please enter the normal ISAC Console Log In password.
    4. It should automatically close the session on sunbeam. It only takes a second. Please do not worry that you did not see anything in the terminal.
  2. Start ALH in ISAC Control Room normally.
